Educational Discovery Tours' Policies
Multiple payment invoice processing: Due to increases in postage and printing, a $4.00 per invoice processing fee will apply to the first four payments, except the deposit. No processing fees will be added if full payment is received with the deposit.
Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. We cannot guarantee travel for anyone with a balance due 60 days prior to departure. Travelers wishing to add to a trip within 60 days of departure will be added on a space available basis. EDT will require payment in full and will charge an additional fee equal to 10% of the trip price.
Late registration: Travelers registering after the deposit due date, up to 60 days prior to travel, must submit the deposit plus the amount of any missed payments, according to the listed payment schedule.
Last minute add-ons: Travelers wishing to add to a trip within 60 days of departure will be added on a space available basis. EDT will require payment in full and will charge an additional fee equal to 10% of the trip price.
Returned check: There will be a $25.00 fee for any check returned by your bank as unpaid.
The following is the EDT cancellation fee schedule. In order to process your cancellation, please be sure to submit your notice of cancellation in writing. If notice of cancellation is received:
- More than 60 days prior to departure
Your deposit is non refundable
(Please refer to the deposit amount listed on your registration form.)
- More than 45 days prior to departure 30% of the total trip cost
- More than 15 days prior to departure 50% of the total trip cost
- Within 15 days prior to departure 100% of the total trip cost

Trip cancellation and/or emergency medical insurance can be purchased through Travelex. Insurance may be purchased online at www.travelex-insurance.com, by phone 1-800-228-9792, or by mailing an enrollment form. Please reference Location #05-0220
California History Tours
Trip cancellation insurance can be purchased for any trip for an additional fee. The cost for trip cancellation insurance is 10% of the trip price ($35 for trips $349 and under). Trip cancellation insurance must be purchased at the point of registration. If insurance has been purchased and a participant cancels, he or she will be refunded the full amount paid to Educational Discovery Tours, less the cost of cancellation insurance. This insurance covers cancellation at any time up to point of departure for any reason except in the event of an act of God, war, terrorism or civil unrest.
